We have been supplying Bartlett’s with potatoes
for 17 years from our Perthshire farm. We
provide the company with 5 different varieties
which include Maris Piper Osprey, Saxon, King
Edward and Rooster. In addition to potatoes we
grow broccoli, spring barley for malting, winter
wheat for livestock feeding, as well as rearing
sheep and cattle. Our environmental
management scheme has allowed us to construct
beetle banks, conservation areas and walk ways
around rivers near our farms.
Father Ian is the Director for the Scottish Crop
Research Institute (SCRI) and we are also keen
supporters of local schools providing funding for
needed resources. Finally we were recently given
the opportunity to be involved with a BBC video,
which was aimed at teaching school children
more about the activities on farms, it did not lead
to a career in Television and therefore we will
continue farming!!
