When Sammy Met Sally

“When Sammy met Sally “is a storybook we have produced to support healthy eating in preschool children. It was developed and piloted with help from the staff and children at Ladywell Nursery, Tullibody, in Scotland. Since it was first published in 2007 it has been distributed to nurseries and preschool establishments throughout Scotland and Northern Ireland in partnership with the various Government programmes to promote healthier eating. It has proved to be extremely popular.
We have recently linked up with safefood in Ireland and Little Steps, a programme specifically targeting preschool children, to distribute 26,000 copies of the storybook to families across Ireland. Albert Bartlett and safefood, have worked directly with each of the County Childcare Committees across Ireland to distribute the story books directly to where they can be most effective. We are evaluating the impact to help us plan the next book in the series.
