Acquired from the Barnes family in 1968, the Chatteris facility now has over 2,500 hectares under cultivation, much of it dedicated to the naturally small and enormously popular Chantenay carrot. Firmly established as Britain’s foremost carrot grower, we have now expanded into prepared products: carrot sticks for caterers and kid’s lunch boxes and also carrot juice and soups. One in six of Britain’s onions pass through Chatteris, most are homegrown, others are sourced from overseas partners, with whom we have long-established links. We are also relied on to supply a third of the Britain’s parsnips. And with the busy mum in mind, we now produce stewpacks, that make real cooking really convenient.
