MEET THE FARMERS

Charlie & Allan Hay

From our farm in north – east Angus, we have been supplying potatoes to Bartlett's for the past 15 years. We currently grow five varieties for the company including Rooster, Desiree, Maris Piper, Saxon and Osprey. As well as potatoes we grow winter wheat and barley for animal feed and oil seed rape for vegetable oil production. Along side farming we also have a keen interest in our surrounding environment and have made many changes to benefit it. Over the years we have built three ponds which attract a variety of wildlife species to the area. There have also been trees and hedgerows planted and game strips sowing which again offer ideal habitats to a wide range of species. Being members of the game conservatory and wildlife trust allows us to keep up to date with the latest news and developments in this area.
