MEET THE FARMERS

John and Jim Hair

We have been supplying Bartlett's for 5 years, our farms in North East Angus have provided them with 6 different varieties of potatoes; Charlotte, Saxon, Osprey, Cultra, Estima and Rooster. As well as potatoes we also grow spring barley for malting, winter wheat and barley for livestock feeding, oil seed rape for vegetable oil. We rent land to grow peas and turnips.

The creation of 2 ponds and the planting of various species of trees has allowed us to encourage different forms of bird and wildlife. Increasing the population of birds and insects on our farm is an important factor in cultivation of our crops. On top of encouraging wildlife on our farm we have also created land access pathways to allow the public to experience the parts of the countryside which we are fortunate to live and work in.
