MEET THE FARMERS

James Baillie

On our family farm in the heart of Angus we grow potatoes, and have been supplying Albert Bartett for 10 years. The varieties grown on our farms are Maris Piper, Osprey, Harmony and Saxon. We also grow distilling wheat, malting barley and vining peas. Grass, sileage and hay is also grown which helps to feed beef cattle which we house on our own straw during the winter.

As farmers it is important for us to attract different forms of wildlife which can also be beneificial to our crops. Our pond, wetland areas, grass margins and hedgerows encourage wildlife to flourish in these suitable habitats.
