MEET THE FARMERS

Peter & Matthew Lamy of Somerleigh Farms (1996) Ltd

We have been supplying Bartlett's with Jersey Royal Potatoes for 3 years from our Jersey farm. We have a BRC accredited packhouse where we grade our potatoes along with other growers before delivering them to Bartlett's 'state of the art' packhouse in Jersey.

In addition to potatoes we grow daffodils which are primarily exported to multiples and wholesalers in the UK. ' are also sold to local florists and bulbs are sold to a packer in Spalding each year.

As well as being Assured Produce approved we are Natures Choice and Soil Association Approved and LEAF members.

As a company and as a family we support and sponsor local community activities.

As for our commitment to the environment we are involved in Operation Bumblebee and our Jersey Countryside Renewal Scheme . The work we've undertaken through the Scheme over the years includes planting of hedgerows, restoration of banks, creation of cultivated habitat strips, squirrel corridors and the creation of footpaths around coastal land. We have also won numerous awards for the work we have undertaken through the Countryside Renewal Scheme.

Peter and Matthew are also council members of the Jersey Farmers Union with Matthew serving as Chairman of the Environment.
