Rooster Potato Cooking Tips
1. Cook a healthier alternative to chips by piping small swirls of mashed Rooster potatoes onto a greased baking tray and bake for 10 minutes until golden brown – The kids will love them!
2. For smoother, creamier and fluffier mash, press Rooster potatoes through a ricer. It creates the ultimate irresistible mashed potato!
3. To prevent potatoes from crumbling when boiling, put them straight into the cold water and boil straight from cold.
4. Add an extra dose of flavour to Rooster mashed potato by mixing in a spoonful of green pesto, it makes a great accompaniment to pan-fried fish or grilled chicken breast.
5. Create extra special potato wedges by simply brushing them with olive oil prior to baking. After 45 minutes, your wedges will have a delicious crunchy skin with a soft potato centre.
6. For quick and easy BBQ kebabs, microwave cubed Rooster chunks for one minute, place on a skewer with peppers, courgettes, onions and marinade with BBQ sauce and grill.
7. Don’t leave anything to waste, make the most of your leftover Rooster mash by adding it to soups and sauces; it’s the perfect natural thickener!
8. If you’re tight on time, you can half the cooking time of a baked potato by placing metal skewers through your Roosters before putting into the oven.
9. Try frying cubed Roosters in olive oil with a few sprigs of rosemary for a great alternative side dish.
10. Add a hint of zest to your potato salad by mixing a dash of vinaigrette and a squeeze of lemon juice.
