ROOSTER POTATOES IRELAND'S FAVOURITE POTATO

Product Image
Described as an "uber tuber" by The Independent, the Rooster is giving the phrase 'hot potato' a whole new meaning. It's not only Ireland’s most popular potato variety, it is fast becoming a runaway best seller in mainland Britain too. Easily distinguished by its red skin and shallow 'eyes', it is extraordinarily versatile: you can boil, bake, steam, chip, roast or fry it, as the recipes you'll find on this website bear witness.

Initially, this red-skinned all-rounder was only available in Scotland but our spud’s sales have been so encouraging that supermarket chains decided to make the Rooster available nationally. The Rooster was recently celebrated in the Scottish Food & Drink Excellence Awards, winning the title of 'Best Fruit or Vegetable Product 2005', not to mention also taking first in class as 'Best Healthy Eating Marketing Campaign 2005'.
